This position supports product strategy activities globally in alignment with Johnson Controls – Hitachi Air Conditioning Global Product Development (JCH-GPD) strategies, JCH Marketing/Branding strategies, and the JCH/JCI regional business strategies.

JCH product lines are applied regionally and as such the product manager should be well versed in regional markets and product requirements as they relate to their assigned product line.  This position calls for continuous monitoring and communications with the product managers and product portfolio managers to ensure the product line continuously meets regional requirements through effective and efficient tools.  Ensure optimization of product line performance measured through realized margins and market share globally.

Principl Duties
  1. Work with product managers, product portfolio managers, ENG to define product offerings in RAC globally
    • Establish and update tool to facilitate product planning in the short term
    • Provide introduction and training to each related team to ensure they operate through tool smoothly
    • Support to develop short term (1-3 year) product planning for each region
  1. Follow up the execution of product attributes realization according defined product strategy
    • As a member to figure out KPI system as tool to get know-how in innovation
    • Work across PM, and RDI to realize innovative technology into product with proper planning
  1. Collaborate with Business Strategy Division,  Marketing, and other related departments to conduct VOC and refine the product attributes for JCH Hitachi DX products
    • Collect Voice of Customer by collaborating with our regional Product Portfolio Managers to ensure our offering fits with customer, sales and channel requirements.
    • Carry out market research.
    • Collect and consolidate technical requirements such as performance, controls, refrigerant and certifications.
    • Analyze competitors’ offering
  1. Other activities to support product strategy and product management
  • Knowledge about HVAC and its applications.
  • Demonstrate leadership, ability to communicate with impact and strategic thinking.
  • Demonstrate ability to navigate and build relationship in large matrix organization, across multiple cultures, multiple locations, and diverse set of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Good communication & presentation skill.
  • Experience in product planning and technology innovation into product, developing customer based product requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred) and above 5 years of strong familiarity with technology innovation, product management and business planning.
  • Fluency in English/Japanese is required, and fluency in Mandarin is a strong preference.
  • Ability to travel, worldwide.
