Category Manager, Procurement – GISC – Tokyo – Japan – JCH

Responsibility Level
  1. Develop Category Strategies for the assigned Global Categories
  2. Drive cost savings through LCC sourcing, supplier rationalization, MBBP and VAVE
  3. Meet or exceed profit plan goals for the related categories for Cost Savings and TWC (Trade Working Capital)
Principl Duties
  1. Ensure alignment of Category Strategies to Business requirements & objectives
  2. Create the cost model of the assigned categories
  3. Lead Supplier Contract/Price negotiations for the central led suppliers
  4. Support Material Best Business Practice (MBBP) initiatives for the respective categories
  5. Actively support & participate in resolving Supplier Delivery, Quality or Commercial issues which have been escalated to the Category team
  6. Coordination implementation of purchasing strategies for respective categories across plants
  7. Control and improve purchase controlling and cost analysis to achieve savings target and cost tracking
  8. Support of proper Make or Buy decisions

Educational Background

  1. Bachelor’s Degree/ Diploma preferably in Engineering
  2. Additional qualification in Supply Chain

Management would be preferred
Work Experience

  1. Min. 5-8 years in HVAC, Engineering, Large Manufacturing or Multi-industry global organization
  2. Min. 3 years of experience in a Strategic Sourcing role

Knowledge/Skill level

  1. In depth understanding of purchasing tools and practices
  2. Strong costing & analytical skills
  3. Ability to cooperate with people of different levels inside/ outside the company and to interact with team to reach team goals and business objectives
  4. Ability to take actions, decisions & to generate ideas, products, processes in promised timely manner; involvement in designs or other work requiring creative imagination

Language Level Fluency in written and spoken Chinese, English and/or Japanese
