This position will serve as the one of the data strategy and execution leaders for the GP Master Data Governance. GP Engineering is developing a comprehensive and cohesive data strategy plan aimed at accelerating a proactive approach to data architecture, data enrichment, and data migration in support of PLM and ERP implementations. This role will help us plan for and manage execution of completing this work ahead of planned implementations.
In addition to data management, this position will have tactical responsibilities, serving as the primary point of contact in support of the business Data Stewards within the specific region they represent.
This position will support Global Products – Master Data Management and Engineering Operations by maintaining and developing the reference item classification master data and standard item description attributes.
In collaboration with subject matter experts and data stewards, defines and implements classification data and standard description strategy, policies, controls, and programs to ensure the Global Products data is accurate, complete, secure, and reliable.
Identifies areas for classification and description data quality improvements and helps to resolve data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies.
Ensure validity of classification schema in key designated MDM application/system, as well as development and documentation of processes with other functional data owners to support ongoing maintenance and data integrity.
Provides assistance in resolving data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) and data stewards.
Assists in data management, governance, and data quality of master data requirements with the functional data owners to ensure functional master data integrity across Global Products is consistent and meets stated business rules and requirements.

Works closely with the business/IT to ensure alignment of master data rules and the operations of the application meet all requirements.
Ensures quality of master data in key systems, as well as development and documentation of processes with other functional data owners to support ongoing maintenance and data integrity.
Provides training and guidance on established data governance to ensure quality and completeness of governed master data
Identifies areas for master data quality improvements and helps to resolve data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies.

• Assists in the development of data management strategy and execution.
• Assists in decoupling data classification, enrichment, and migration from PLM launches.
• Assists in the application and implementation procedures of data standards and guidelines on data ownership, coding structures, and data replication to ensure access to and integrity of data sets.
• Ensure master data integrity as well as maintaining the processes to the data quality. Identify areas for data quality improvements and help to resolve data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies.
• Assists in creation of job aids, workflows and other types of knowledge articles to support the region they represent
• Assists in the application and implementation procedures of classification data standards and guidelines on data ownership, coding structures, and data replication to ensure access to and integrity of data sets.
• Conducts data cleaning to rid the system of old, unused data, or duplicate data for better management and quicker access.
• Ensures quality and completeness of master data in key systems, as well as development and documentation of processes with functional data owners to support ongoing maintenance and data integrity

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 6-8 years of experience in data management, data analysis, engineering, or computer programming.
• Must be bilingual and have functional English and Japanese reading and writing skills
• Experience working with industry standards, regulations, and guidelines in database warehousing and other relevant systems.
• Experience working with company hardware and software products to make sound financial recommendations.
• Experience working with information security practices and available security software packages.
• Experience working with domain structures, user authentication, and digital signatures.
• Experience working with relational databases.
• Experience in SAP ERP and Windchill PLM a plus
• Experience in engineering design and manufacturing processes a plus
