[Summary]

As part of a NEDO project, Hitachi-Johnson Controls Air Conditioning, a member of the Thermal Management Materials and Technology Research Association (TherMAT), has succeeded in developing a single effect double-lift absorption chiller called “DXS”. This chiller can expand the usable temperature of industrial waste heat to the low-temperature range and recover heat at about twice as the temperature difference of conventional units.

By using the “DXS” technology developed, the available temperature range suitable for waste heat reuse can be expanded. Consequently, promotion of the technology for utilization in factory waste heat as well as waste heat from district heat supply networks that is unused in summer is expected.
