Chief Executive Officer

After working for several leading companies in the automotive component manufacturing industry, Shoji joined Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning on November 1, 2019 as Co-COO. Shoji was named CEO, Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning effective June 1, 2020.

Shoji began his career as a process engineer with ZEXEL Co, Ltd. (formally known as Diezel Kiki Co, Ltd.) in 1988. He has held various positions in designing and developing air conditioning key components for automobiles, while building his career both in Japan and overseas. As the company merged with total automotive system supplier Valeo, he held a series of key positions within its automotive air conditioning systems operations. In 2011, he became the executive officer of Valeo Japan Co, Ltd., and in 2013, he was appointed executive vice president of Valeo Niles Co, Ltd. In 2014, he was appointed Valeo Group Vice President and Board of Director of Valeo Japan Co, Ltd.

Nobuyuki joined the Johnson Controls group (former Johnson Controls Automotive Systems, currently Adient) in 2010 after working for several leading global companies in the automotive industry. After joining Johnson Controls Automotive Systems, Nobuyuki successively held financial leader’s positions for key customer business units, including Asia Finance Director for Nissan Customer Business Unit, Global Finance Director for Toyota Customer Business Unit, and Global Finance Director for Nissan Customer Business Unit. Since 2014, Nobuyuki was leading the commercial finance team of the $5 billion business, the Global Asian Customer Group as Global Finance Director.

Nobuyuki joined Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning in June 2017, and was appointed as CFO in December of the same year.

Nobuyuki holds a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from Brigham Young University in Utah, U.S.A.
